Review of The Vicious Kind (2009) by Joel C — 05 May 2010
The kind of film that seems purely made for Sundance. Small town setting, dysfunctional family, simplistic score. The performances are the reason to watch this.
Britney Snow, so awful in the Prom Night remake almost redeems herself here, JK SImmons is great as usual, but the film belongs to Adam Scott who plays the asshole with disturbing ease.
Similar ground has been covered before, but you could do worse.
