Review of The Verdict (1982) by Victor L — 27 Jun 2011
The Verdict is the inspirational story of Frank Galvin who gets the chance to defend a poor woman who was left in a deep coma due to negligence and the opportunity to change his life and recover his lost reputation.
I'm not very into courtroom dramas, but this picture is involving, entertaining and you cannot be indifferent to this man's fight to win the case and play the ethical role of a lawyer. James Mason is fantastic as the evil lawyer Concannon that defends the archbishop's hospital, he deserved to win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
Sidney Lumet was a master of direction, this is one of his most accomplished works.
