Review of The Vault (2017) by Joe M — 12 Oct 2018
So, I can understand most of the cast getting sucked into this one (still up and coming, a major roll is a major roll)... and that's not to detract from the quality of the acting (not bad at all tbh).. I'm confused at how the hell they roped franco into this weird rehash-and-mash of a script.
The acting wasn't the problem whatsoever, but the script as a whole was just a mess. Plot holes conveniently covered with gibberish were everywhere, and character development started with over half the cast, only 2 of which (and i'm being generous) were ever brought to any fruition, and the Shamalayn-esque twist at the end seemed pointless, convenient, and (again), totally under-developed.
Production seemed fine, the acting was commendable (given the sallow garbage they were given to work with), and what little cohesive plot line that was there were on point. This just seemed like a rushed, slap-job of a premise that needed time to develop.
3 stars, only because the cast was able to spin at least some gold from the verbal DIARRHEA they were handed to for a script.
