Review of The Vanishing of Sidney Hall (2018) by Nadjib R — 12 Mar 2018
I strongly believe that films can offer us much more than plain entertainment, having said that, The Vanishing of Sidney Hall is the perfect example of that, the movie in so many ways is therapeutic and enchanting, it might be perceived as pretentious and cliché but at the very core of it you'll find peace, the film boasts the notion of honesty and that's exactly what it is, an honest and sincere exploration of life, it attacks you head on and demands a reaction and provokes a feeling seamlessly.
The incredibly talented Logan Lerman along with Elle Fanning create a transporting experience that thrives on purity, they, from sequence to another express their character's depth in an amazing way, it's extremely impressive to watch.
The story might come across as sloppy but the heartfelt rendition just makes up for that and in a way gives it another meaning.
In all honesty, this film struck a chord with me and it made me feel all sort of things and for that only I find it to be very refreshing and necessary to go through, ultimately, The Vanishing of Sidney Hall is a brilliant display of the power of emotions.
