Review of The Vanishing (1993) by Monjit B — 22 Feb 2012
A great movie. Jeff Bridges plays a morally demented, narcissistic university professor who commits a murder in order to prove some socially deprived point. The Prof is deranged and is most likely a hard marker.
Bridges character Barney plays a psychological game with Kiefer Sutherland's character Jeff. The storyline creates much mystery and suspense. The director created the perfect build up for the intense climax.
The acting was superb. The viewer see Kiefer Sutherland and Sandra Bullock before they became famous. For a 1993 movie The Vanishing never gets old. I give The Vanishing 3 out of 4 stars.
