Review of The U.S. vs. John Lennon (2006) by Amanda H — 10 Aug 2007
Everyone knows how much of a devoted Lennon fan I am, so of course I ran out to buy this one, but I'm afraid it fell a little short. Lots of Yoko was good, but nothing much from anybody else really close to him .
.. I fully expected to see some McCartney, but nothing, and no input from George or Ringo or anyone who could speak for them. Nothing from John's kids or his first wife, Cynthia. I wish the transformation from beloved Beatle to wanted man that was highlighted on the back cover as the main theme had been more pronounced; I saw very little early John.
However, judging by the title, that was not what this one was truly about, and so perhaps that's not good criticism. Still interesting and worth at least one viewing, especially for John's fans.
