Review of The U.S. vs. John Lennon (2006) by Nell H — 15 Aug 2007
I feel a little like that one person we all know who was *shocked* that the boat sank at the end of Titanic. I'm not quite that bad, but I still cried unexpectedly when John was killed. This documentary was fascinating to me because the only things I know about John Lennon's transformation after meeting Yoko Ono comes from the Barenaked Ladies' "You Can Be My Yoko Ono.
" I was intrigued, but I also understand why this film didn't do that well. It hints at a lot of things without delving deeply into them; the reason for this might be lack of actual knowledge about what the FBI and/or American government was doing or thinking at any given time, but the title leadme to believe that's what this would be about.
The ending also falls a little flat for a documentary.
