Review of The U.S. vs. John Lennon (2006) by Noah G — 07 Feb 2008
There was literally one small piece of footage of John Lennon in this movie that I had not seen previously. The fact that VH1 was involved in the production should be included as a warning label on the cover.
A lot of great people are interviewed, but the 15-second sound bites they are given belong in an episode of Behind the Music, not a feature-length documentary. Even the footage of John and Yoko is rarely allowed to play for more than 30 seconds before we're off to the next sound bite.
The poster is literally the best part of this movie. And I guarantee it was designed by someone who had nothing to do with the substance, or lack thereof, of the feature itself.
