Review of The Upside of Anger (2005) by Sam M — 18 Jul 2006
Running Scared >> C >> Fun to watch and had moments that packed a punch. Yet this punch was phantom and there was nothing really fresh here.
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang >> A- >> Fucking witty and hilarious as hell... because hell is hilarious, okay?? FUCK YEAH! Val Kilmer is awesome as such a witty and sarcastic bastard. Robert Downey Jr. is great and funny as usual.
The Chumscrubber >> B+ >> Similar to Thumbsucker, this film deals with how drugs are at such easy access to teenagers and how parents think it will solve all their family problems. Differently, this film focuses on a neighborhood of teens and their parents, and the resulting effects after one teen commits suicide.
The Upside of Anger >> B+ >> Shows how anger and negative assumptions can change a person for better or worse.
Doom >> F+ >> The first person shooter scene at the end was pretty cool and brought back memories, but overall, the movie was just mindless action junk.
