Review of The Upside of Anger (2005) by Kristian T — 07 Feb 2008
This is a sleeper that really grows on you. It feels kind of blah at first, but Joan Allen is absolutely superb in this role. The daughters, especially Ericka Christensen and her efforts to be "cultured" by an older man, are a good fit, with the exception of Kerri Russell, who is way too old to be playing the character.
This film is one that rides its entire weight on its actors, and they breathe life into their hurt, lonely, yet surviving characters.
