Review of The Untouchables (1987) by Marianne B — 19 Jun 2011
***1/2 (out of four).
A well-paced and entertaining action film with one of Kevin Costner's best roles. I like the scope as well as the amount of depth put into the script.
Based on the 1960's television series, Kevin Costner takes over from Robert Stack, the role of Elliot Ness, the law man who was on the trail of legendary mob boss Al Capone, played by Robert DeNiro.
A great cast of characters and strong direction from DePalma. I'm not sure Sean Connery deserved an Oscar, however for his work. I would have voted for Albert Brooks in "Broadcast News".
