Review of The Untouchables (1987) by Waltertsolley — 27 Dec 2017
Brian De Palma’s least personal film is still great entertainment. A linear and compellingly “fictionalized” account of how G-Man Elliot Ness took down gangland kingpin Al Capone. Set in prohibition era Chicago, the film features several virtuoso set pieces, not the least of which helped Sean Connery win a much deserved Oscar.
The Art Direction is as breathtaking as Ennio Morricone’s brilliant score.
