Ryan gosling is so out of his elemant here especailly at his young age, but he pulled it of and I easily connected to the charactor because he was so belevible. I've never really like jena malone, and she isn't up to par with her co-star here but it's wonderful and disturbing even while she barely scrapes along.

I guess the beast word to discribe this film as a whole is honest.
