Review of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) by Matt S — 12 Sep 2008
The film, as well as the novel that it's based on, seems to have this obsession with the female form and nude women. Tomas, who can be insensitive at times, can't find it in himself to be loyal and faithful to Tereza.
He might be unfaithful and annoyingly flirtatious but he can really stick to his ideals even when he is in great need of money and a stable job. I am not a fan of the last scenes and the ending but overall, the film is great.
