I know, I know. French musical--doesn't get much gayer than that, right? Well, the score (the entire movie is sung) is tops, the cinematography and set design are gorgeous and this is about the most depressing musical I've seen.
You could call it "Stingin' in the Rain." Plus Catherine Deneuve is a total fox.
