Review of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) by Alastair M — 15 Aug 2007
One of a kind oparetic romantic melodrama featuring some of the most vibrant photography I've ever seen. The perpetually sung dialouge may seem stilted at first, but if you let yourself get carried away with it you'll have a heart breaking good time.
Also a considerable social document on the effects of war on the home front.
