Review of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) by Mark S — 30 May 2012

I can't claim to like this as much as its legendary reputation perhaps signifies I should, but it's certainly quite original, I'll give it that. It's just that the music is so monotone that the cast may as well just be speaking.

But beyond the musical minutiae I did find the story quite interesting and the end scenes stuck with me.
