For the most part a good uplifting family flick. Yet there were some glaring weaknesses. The acting was not great, but the biggest issue was the ridiculous storyline involving drug cartels and kidnapping in Ecuador.
Had The Ultimate Gift stayed more realistic and not turned into an thriller/escape flick (even if it was only for 30 minutes) it would have been much better off.
