This is one of those movies you really want to like, but it stops short of excellence in almost every way. Perhaps it was a great book? There were just a lot of implausible circumstances and conversations.

I enjoyed the scenes of Charlotte, NC and James Garner and Brian Dennehy were enjoyabe in their short roles. Interesting idea, though. Family film mostly.
