Review of The Two of Us (1967) by Byron B — 13 Sep 2008
Charming--Michel Simon is great and the chemistry between him and the little boy is genuine. The social commentary about racism is a bit understated given that it was still a senstive topic at the time, but I think the film made a subtle but powerful point about that period in French history.
The interview with the adult Alain Cohen is very insightful as to why his performance was so convincing. A great little film.
