Review of The Two Jakes (1990) by Kevin R — 13 Sep 2010
The Two Jakes, although no where as good as China Town, is a pretty decent film. It has a good cast with Nicholson reprising one of his best roles and Harvey Ketiel playing the bad guy that you end up feeling sorry for, with the rest of the cast doing a fairly adequate job.
The story itself does seem a little thin, and the characters surrounding Jake just didn't seem to have as much, well, character this time around. Anyway, The Two Jakes works mainly cause of Nicholson and although it is a good addition to the character of Jake Gittes, I am glad they left it here and did not make another one.
