Endearingly bizarre, and featuring the usual fan-service in the form of topless hotties running through forests - you just wish it was a slightly better movie, given the Hammer Horror promise of the pregnancy premise.

Like Harry Potter (Deathly Hallows Pt 1, though DH was way better) it drags and is very boring, maybe just saving the best bits till Part 2 and sometimes doesn't even feel like a vampire movie, untill maybe towards the final 3rd.

With a few slick, dreamy moments and the odd good special effect, there was nothing really hooking me that any Vampire film/TV show has already done. That said, it probably had the best acting from ALL the cast for the first time in the series.

..and that itself isn't saying much. The dialog was still cheesy and the script seemed very week, it was like they didn't read or research the book and instead just picked the best bits out. I'm not disliking this just because I'm a guy but normally films like this don't appeal to me.

It does build up for the final part (Part 2) and as I'm never gonna read the books I might as well watch Part 2. I just hope it's worth it and better than this. Just because it's a box office hit doesn't make it a good film.

Fans will love but that is it. Music was a tad ok but this movie did drag...far to long, it was that boring but had it's moments.
