The added minutes build a bit more tension between the cast, but at the cost of the storyline's pacing. As of result, "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" is another slow, unfocused installment in the franchise.
They could had combined both Parts and it would have been a much better film since you have more conflicts and less standing around doing nothing.
