Review of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 (2011) by Christina A — 27 Jun 2016
Director Bill Condon revisits Breaking Dawn: Part 1 with an extended edition that's darker and more intense. While the film remains largely the same, the added material gives the story more breathing room and helps with the character development.
This cut also has a more foreboding and dangerous tone that keeps the larger conflicts of the series ever-present. The Twilight Saga is an incredibly ambitious fantasy series, and Breaking Dawn: Part 1 does an excellent job at capturing the themes of family, love, and sacrifice; which are enhanced by this extended edition that gives a more in-depth look at this rich universe.
