I really enjoyed about three quarters of this film. Half way through, I was wondering why the film received such a low rating, but then again, I've watched movies with low ratings and thought they were great. Not here.

Sure, the plot was a little wanting. Could two paper pushers commandeer a complex heist? And there were a couple other head-shakers. Such as the cop that just happens to drop by during the heist (isn't that type of interruption mandatory in these films?). The cop said that he had seen some heavy equipment being moved into the building. Well, first of all, why did it take him several hours to finally check it out, since they'd been drilling for some time. And what's the concern for heavy equipment? Was the cop aware of the valuables? That wasn't made clear. And the ending was a bit odd. If the kidnapped woman called for help, why did it take them hours and hours to respond?

Like I said, the movie has its weak points, but the acting was decent (even though a bit uneven for Cage, no surprise). And Frodo (sorry ;o) did well as a bored, disenfranchised cop, but isn't he a bit undersized to be a cop? Just wondering.

Not a complete waste of time, but the ending needs to be re-written (the drilling scene went on way too long), and the murders committed by Stone (Cage) seemed a bit much, a bit out of character, unexplained. Also the movie lurches a bit from light-humour to overly dark, another uneven factor. But Cage and Wood work well together as the plot builds, but the ending sadly brings all that to a halt.
