Review of The Truman Show (1998) by Bobby K — 29 Apr 2013
It is little wonder why The Truman Show has gone on to become a classic of mind bender cinema, even if it is a bit overrated. The inventive direction by Peter Weir who emulates the kind of camera work we would see on television mixed with an engaging and thought provoking script by Andrew Niccol create an essential film going experience that will leave you satisfied.
The performances, on the other hand, are more arguable as it is hard to see this incarnation of Jim Carrey as the average man, which would suit the plot better. Still, it is a wonderful film and deserves to be seen at least once by everyone.
