Review of The Truman Show (1998) by Zachary M — 05 Aug 2016
If you've ever had the feeling like someone is watching you everywhere you do and seeing everything you do, well maybe avoid this movie. It's sure to give you panic attacks.
Coming out at a time when reality TV was just becoming a huge thing, it is a striking critic of that genre, the entertainment industry, and our collective society all at once. But it does manage to pack a lot of heart and humor into it, which a movie like this desperately needs. Wither it makes you laugh, cry, or both, you're likely to come away from this feeling truly moved. And that's how a good movie should be.
