Review of The Truman Show (1998) by Oliver F — 01 Mar 2013
At first glance, The Truman Show appears to be a quirky and simplistic comedy about a man who is being filmed 24/7. Beneath the surface though, the Truman Show is an extremely well thought-out film that forces us to reevaluate the folly of our existence.
Which is better: Living in blissful ignorance or harsh reality? What is freedom in its essence? Are we better off having free will and being damned, or are we better off strictly adhering to the blueprint of a supreme being? While the Truman Show doesn't necessarily provide the answers to these questions, it is nonetheless a fantastic film that just might change the way that you view life.
