Review of The Triplets of Belleville (2003) by Brian H — 03 Mar 2009
One of my all time favorite classics for animation!
A wonderful organic style of animation amidst a sea of computer generated characters. It's vicious with its satire and full of very inspired ideas, the kind that makes animation worthwhile.
The Triplets of Belleville" is perhaps one of the most curious animated ever seen. I dare not describe the film, because any detail would only ruin your experience. The film leaps and frolics from one scene to the next leaving you completely unsure of whats to come. The visual style is completely haunting, yet somehow lovable at the same time. A unique soundtrack maintains the curious vibe and plays a vital role in the action. This is one slow pace film that climaxes at a crawl, but it's unpredictability keeps your attention from beginning to end.
A Must look~eee~See! (@@,)b.
