Balancing unscripted humor with poignant drama, The Trip offers up something new and surprisingly deep into the buddy-roadtrip subgenre. Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon portray fictional versions of themselves on a tour of fine eateries throughout the English countryside.
Dinner table scenes in which they try to best each other's impersonations of Michael Caine are highlights.
