Another in a superfluous roster of overpoweringly inconsequential films from the asshole who made 9 Songs and passed it for cinema, The Trip, though much better suited for a 50-minute BBC special, begrudgingly skates by on the inarguably hilarious interactions between its two inarguably hilarious stars.
But it's as thin as Winterbottom's filmmaking ability.
