Review of The Tree of Life (2011) by Sreejith M — 31 May 2013
There's so much to admire about Terrence Malick's "Tree of Life". It depicts a childhood where life flows through in and out of open doors. The long days of summertime and idleness and the urgent but unanswered questions about the meanings of things.
It made me nostalgic and even when the ending seems somewhat odd Malick with his cinematographer Emanuel Lubezki have crafted a stunning visual film with echoes of Stanley Kubrick's cult classic 2001: A space odyssey.
