Review of The Tree of Life (2011) by Tracy W — 10 Jun 2014
Where should I start? Not since 2001 (a film I adore) have I've experience such poignant beauty and beautiful cinematography on screen. There are not enough words to describe the deep emotional core of this movie.
It's subtle, it's humble. Its a reflection on faith, life, death, the birth of the universe, the emergence of the earth's species and our role in it in the grand scheme of the universe and everything else.
It's not a formulaic film and I realize it will alienate most audiences. But for those who want a thought provoking and challenging film, this is for you. Again, this film is amazing, a true masterpiece.
Love it.
