Review of The Tree of Life (2011) by Thomas B — 29 Jan 2015
Not my favourite Malick's film (it will always be The Thin Red Line) but a really incredible piece of filmaking! Lots of people might hate his slow, poetic style but I must say I loved it! This is the kind of film where you must turn off your brain and just let yourself carried away by the beauty of the cinematography.
Like I said, it's not an easy film to get into but if you do, you'll love it. Congratulations though to director, cast and film crew for daring showing something so unusual & different from 99 percent of the actual film production.
It's nice to see that out there some still perceive cinema as an art form and not only as a golden ticket to make money.
