Review of The Tree of Life (2011) by Ken S — 06 Feb 2015
Terrence Malick's fifth film is a wonderfully photographed film that tells the story of a young family in the 1960s, as well as the simple story of Earth and life itself, sort of. It is kind of epic in it's scope, yet the real story it is telling is very small.
An interesting film, exquisitely shot, with tremendous special effects. I enjoyed my experience watching this, and I applaud Malick's scope and effort, even if I don't think it is his best film.
If anything, I will be thinking about this film for a while, and that has to count for something.
