Review of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948) by Al M — 14 Feb 2009
Perhaps my favorite bogart performance. A very different film for him, in which he progresses from merely scruffy and broke to suffering from paranoid delusions. The way bogart metamorphoses slowly over the film is astounding.
In addition, Sierra Madre is a visiually beautiful and striking film from beginning to end that is flled with action, incredible cinematography, pitch perfect acting, and plenty of humor as well. An absolute must see.
