Review of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948) by Benjamin N — 17 Oct 2010
John Huston's haunting study of greed was the clear inspiration for Paul Thomas Anderson's "There Will Be Blood," and like that film, it throws the audience into the process of accumulating wealth, and by extension into the swirling vortex of madness that can result.
Full of stellar performances, this is a terrific film.
