Review of The Transporter Refueled (2015) by Abhinandhan D — 03 Sep 2015
Transporter Refueled is a reboot no one asked for to a action franchise that was only entertaining due to its main lead being a charismatic badass. I was not looking forward to this movie at all but at least it ended up being watchable due to some silly moments.
This is a terrible movie with a weak script that adds absolutely nothing to the action movie genre. Ed skrein plays Frank Martin but he simply does not have the same level of charisma or badassery that statham had playing the same character.
So much so that he gets overshadowed by Ray Stevenson who plays his father and is the best part of this movie. There are a few serviceable action scenes that could have been much better if not for the quick cut editing bullshit that mediocre action movie directors love using these days.
Its hilarious how Frank Martin Sr who is shown to be a retired spy gets kidnapped so easily multiple times that he is essentially the McGuffin of this movie. All in All, Transporter Refueled is a terrible movie but at least it doesn't drive you the wall watching it.
P.S Its amazing how the Audi car that he drives never gets damaged even though he crashes through so many objects. D+.
