Review of The Train (1964) by Serkan S — 19 Dec 2008
For a film of 44 years old, "The Train" is a gem; a phenomenon in the heydays of '60s cinema. No CGI effects, no miniature sets, no stunts, no mockups, everything real as hell!!! Apart from Lancester's high-wire performance, great action sequences and use of real trains which were collided head-on, derailed, wrecked, and blown up with tons of explosives are just impressive.
No need to mention dazzling B&W cinematography and Frankenheimer's excellent capture of small details. Deserves to be a true classic...
