Review of The Train (1964) by Devin R — 28 Apr 2012
THE TRAIN is a well-crafted WWII thriller about Nazis stealing art out of France before the end of the war, and a top secret mission by an American soldier to stop them. Shot in black & white with a steady hand by director John Frankenheimer (The Manchurian Candidate), THE TRAIN is just the kind of entertaining joyride that just doesn't get made much these days.
It's smart, thrilling and raises a good question--just what is the worth of art in comparison to human lives?
