Review of The Toxic Avenger (1984) by Kesha B — 21 Dec 2008
Good lord, Toxic Avenger is an exercise in cheap, oldschool independent film making...and it's absolutely awesome. I remember renting it from the library when I was a kid a lot because there was nudity (hey, I was a kid, but I had priorities, alright?) and the hero totally gets it on with a smokin hot blind chick (how awesome is that?).
A cool combination of the superhero & horror genres (basically what would happen if Jason only killed a-holes and everybody loved him no matter how incredibly gruesome the killings were...or, in fact, were performed right in front of them).
..Did I say the Dark Knight was the best superhero movie we'd possibly ever get? Well, it's no Toxic Avenger, that's for sure. It's a total cheese-fest and that's why I love this movie.
..and you should too! >_>.
