Review of The Toxic Avenger (1984) by Caleb B — 09 Feb 2010
This was the very first Troma film I have experienced when my own grandmother introduced me to horror films (that was a pretty young age, by the way. -.- and god rest her soul). I thought this was pretty funny than scary because you have two pieces of true importance in this film: a nerd and some radioactive toxic waste equals one badass super hero to clean up Tromaville (surprise, a shameless plug to Troma).
This movie has an extreme cult status and always will be, even seen part II on G4 (Sweeeeet!). With cheap effects, underrated and great acting, and plenty of blood and gore on the unrated cut. Toxic Avenger will not disappoint even the sickest Troma fan around these days. With me being a fan of Troma's films (not all of them, of course), the Unrated edition will take your guts away.
