Review of The Toxic Avenger (1984) by Mark M — 17 Nov 2011
Tromaville is the toxic waste dump capitol of the country, and its over the top population of intense nuts push the scrawny nerdy janitor Melvin too far...into toxic waste...it beefs him up and turns him into the town's new monster hero.
He takes down the bullies that tricked him into the waste, as well as the town's huge drug ring, which is run by the mayor himself. This is Troma...a production studio known for its badly made and acted cheesy B-films, and the movie is fun and ridiculous, but you have to be ready for the bad acting, the gratuitous sex and violence, the silly plots, and the over the top gore.
The Toxic Avenger is definitely worth the look for any B-movie fan.
