Review of The Toxic Avenger (1984) by Ryan V — 28 Sep 2012
Director Lloyd Kaufman turns schlocky exploitation movies into an art form with this enduring B-Movie. The Toxic Avenger concerns a mild mannered janitor (Mark Torgl) who's forced into a barrel of toxic waste by some muscle-headed bullies.
Gaining a set of monstrous superpowers, "The Toxic Avenger" decides to dispatch his evil tormentors as well as a slew of evil n'er do wells. These acts of vengeance ultimately result in Toxie becoming a tireless crusader for justice.
Gory, brutal, willfully goofy, and featuring a lot of pointless nudity, The Toxic Avenger will prove to be an entertaining movie as long as the viewer is keen for trashy fun.
