Review of The Town that Dreaded Sundown (2014) by Lana R — 04 Feb 2015
If you are looking for a horror film that feels like a classic slasher from the 80's this is as close as your going to get. There was nothing modern or flashy about The Town, it was a straight forward story of a small town with a masked killer on the loose.
I never saw the original but this incorporated it into the plot as a movie that the town showed ever year for fun. The whole film your trying to figure out who the killer is and working on connecting clues and following along with the investigation going on, on screen.
The ending is a bit of a shocker and it really ties it up well. There are some gruesome murders with plenty of blood so be prepared for that. I just enjoyed the throwback type of movie it was and how it all seemed real and took itself serious.
Horror movie aficionados should enjoy this thoroughly.
