Review of The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976) by Grayson W — 12 Sep 2014
Perhaps the biggest problem I had with "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" is how much hype has been built around it. People have called it one of the most underrated true-crime movies ever made.
Unfortunately, it's not. Despite some decently creepy and minimally violent kills, "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" can't simply survive on just its true-story source material when it suffers from hammy acting, repetitive narration, a dated style, and flat humor.
The killer is slightly creepy, but otherwise, "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" only disappoints.
