Review of The Times of Harvey Milk (1984) by Gabriel G — 08 Sep 2008
A fascinating, emotional and historically significant subject matter, explored and told beautifully. Rob Epstein judges the mood of the documentary perfectly by not giving us hundreds of talking heads but a select few; giving great personal insight to Milk and what he meant to them and the city.
The archive footage is incredible too, from the aftermath of the shooting and Milk's interviews to the crowded euphoria of Castro Street.
