Gay history 101! A must for anyone GLBT or otherwise... whilst TTOHM suffers a little from the sins of omission, it's still a go get 'em account of the rise and subsequent assasination of America's first openly Gay elected official, and the shocking aftermath which raised questions about the international legal system and homophobia, which to this day remain largely unanswered.
More than anything, this is a moving, deeply human look at a man who refused to compromise his identlty to make his mark in the bigger picture, and in doing so, bring greater visibility to minorities everywhere.
For me... a life-altering cinematic experience, which makes me sadder each time I watch it and realise that nothing much has changed.
