Review of The Time Traveler's Wife (2009) by Rebecca B — 28 Sep 2012
Between knowing the winning lottery number and watching your own death, director Robert Schwentke's vision of time travelling is no fun. Not only you lose all your clothes every time you time travel, you end up depressed and getting everyone depressed, the audience included. After the novelty of the first segment, I keep wondering how this story is going to end. The events are intertwined and the paths are crossed so often, nothing carries meaning anymore. Things can just end at any point and then restart all over again without missing a beat. So why bother?
With the entrance of a character, things are put back into perspective, albeit a little too late.
