Review of The Time Machine (1960) by Gergely K — 24 Apr 2010
I recently saw Rod Taylor in Darker than Amber at a showing at my local cinema and there was alot of talk about how he was such a crazy and bad ass man. Sure enough, that statement is proved in The Time Machine where you see him doing what he does best: being macho while putting on his stern face and kicking some serious Eloi eating Morlock's butts.
The effects in this are so astounding, I see why they were oscar worthy. It's all stop motion! I just found that super impressive for a 60's film. I thought I would see cheesy flashes of multicolored lights and cartoonish effects.
It's an alright movie to say the least, but I found some parts enjoyable.
